In this post I would like to introduce the opening of a cable park called West Rock Wake Park in Rockford, IL.
Up until the opening of this park Chicago area riders have had to travel up to 3 hours to get to the closest 2.0 at Nordic park in WI and up to 6 hours to a full size cable at Wake Nation in Cincinnati, OH. With the opening of West Rock it has cable riding much more accessible to the cities surrounding it including Chicago. West Rock contains two 2.0 systems with the hopes to upgrading to a full size within the next one to two seasons. One 2.0 is used for beginners and the other 2.0 is used for features. The features consist of a beginner fun box, a small kicker, a roof-top slider, a pipe slider that is identical to the one that was used on the pro tour last season, and two more arrived that I cannot wait to go back and hit. With a purpose to spread the sport to their surrounding community that would normally never get the chance to wakeboard you couldn’t ask for a more welcoming atmosphere. This being their primary purpose they also keep the cost to a minimum with an awesome reward program. So grab your gear for Board Shop and head out there.
